Dr Bob Sears

Poison is strong word but it reflects Dr. Bob Sears passion.  Fat cells do not just sit around doing nothing while coating your organs and body.  Fat cells actually release inflammatory chemicals which Dr. Sears describes as being poison to your tissues.  The reality is, inflammation is the root of most if not all diseases: heart, cancer, strokes, depression, you name it…  Those inflammatory chemicals cause interactive cellular disturbances. Dr. Sally Byrd describes it this way, “It is like your body is on fire.” We can’t see or hear it but it’s happening.  And so begins the downhill run to disease.  Please note that these diseases are showing up among children.  How sad is that?  (To learn more, download our March 5th interview with Dr. Sears for free on itunes or listen to the archived version on www.BetterFoodChoicesRadio.com.)

To many, managing weight is all about how you look on the outside, but, on the inside is it all about living a healthy life or struggling with disease and dying. Now you know why being overweight and obesity is a serious disease.   Put your priorities in order, make Better Food Choices and get moving.

farm with vegetables and sheep Think he nailed it.  Easy to remember. Easy to understand. Feed your kids fresh fruits and vegetables, grass-fed additive-free meats and fish, and whole grains.  Lean toward organic farming whenever possible as it  is natural farming minus the use of unnatural chemicals.  When you go to your local farmer’s markets or grocery store, remember Dr. Bob’s advice.  You’ll instinctively stay away from processed foods.  As you have heard before, shop the outer perimeter of the store and skip the inner isles as much as possible.

Go find yourself a pineapple wedger.  It takes the struggle out of serving your family fresh mouth-watering pineapple chunPineapple wedgerks.  I have always used a big knife and consequently have lost a lot of juice in the process.  Plus everything around me got sticky and had to be cleaned. No more.  Just put this baby on top of your fresh pineapple and with a good push, you are all set!  Fresh pineapple costs less because you don’t pay for labor and packaging.  And, it is better for your family. Because you will be more likely to buy and serve your family nutrient-packed delicious pineapple, investing in this gadget is an investment in your family’s health.  Angela Russ, thank you for this tip.
