<p><strong>Grilling Dads, Jay and Jim Kridel, shared their 12 Best Grilling Tips on our Better Food Choices Radi0 show.  Now you can be a top grill chef, too!</strong></p>
<p>1. LOW and SLOW.  Number one grill tip from the Grilling Dads, Jim and Jay Kridel.  Keep the fire, the heat, to a medium temperature as you cook almost everything.  No high hot flames as they kill the flavor and produce deadly carcinogens.  Replace mystery meat served camouflaged with sauce with moist mouth-watering flavor-filled burgers, hot dogs, steaks, fish and even vegetables. </p>
<p>2. LOW Fires are made with fewer briquettes spread thinly across the bottom of the grill.  Gradually replace them when needed.  Slow cooked briquettes means slow cooked healthy and super delicious grilled food.</p>
<p>3. Lighter fluid soaked briquettes makes lighter fluid flavored grilled food.  Do we really need to tell you how sickening that is?</p>
<p>4. Listen to the sizzle.  When you want to know if your steak, fish, broccoli, onions or any food is cooking at the right temperature on a grill, bring your ear close enough to listen for the sizzle – lid on or lid off.  If you hear silence, it is time to add some more briquettes, wood or turn up the gas a little.</p>
<p>5. Grilling is a social event, whether it is a small gathering of your immediate family, a larger family affair, or one that includes friends.  Include your kids in the process.  With care, help them to learn how to grill. </p>
<p>6. Use tumeric, rosemary, oregano and other herbs and spices when you season your food for the grill.  They are anti-carcinogenic – anti-cancer!</p>
<p>7. Grill Baskets are the best!  They are very inexpensive and make it possible for you to grill small sizes of vegetables and keep fish from falling through the grill grates.  Use olive oil to keep anything from sticking.</p>
<p>8. Grill Fruit!  Again, the grill basket makes this possible.  The grilled natural sugars  create phenomenal flavor!</p>
<p>9. Marinate first to maximize flavor and moist texture.  Olive oil, lemon, herbs are enough.  Add cayenne for a little zip. </p>
<p>10. Keep your grill clean.  A skuzzy collection of residue from past grilling is a great way to ruin a good meal.</p>
<p>11. Precooking hot dogs and sausages in gently boiling beer insures a moist absolutely delicious result.  Once cooked through in beer, lightly grill them until you see a few grill marks.  Beats shriveled up, tight skinned, hard on the outside and often undercooked on the inside dogs.  Since the beer’s alcohol is released in the air while cooking, this is a recipe for kids as well.  Enjoy!</p>
<p>12. Watch for a &#8220;Jucy Lucy&#8221; burger made by Jay’s 12 year old nephew.  Kids like to cook, too!</p>

It also destroys microorganisms.  Trouble is, neither can discern between the good and bad ones thus potentially damaging nutritious miroorganisms naturally found in foods.  Both are suspected of damaging good cells living in the bodies of the people who eat these foods.  ETO is considered a carcinogenic compound and the use on food is not legal in Europe. </p>
<p>Irradiation is primarily used on produce and fresh meats.  Because these are not packaged and labelled, the companies do not have to reveal their usage of these gases.  ETO processing does not have to be identified for any foods.  So you have no way of knowing whether you are eating ETOed foods or not.  Chances are, you  have since almost all but organic food brands use these gasing processes.  For instance, herbs and spice are usually ETOed.  We know that the Frontier Natural Coop brand does not use either irradiation or ETO.  Instead, they use a safe and effective steam sterilizing process to take care of those unwanted microorganisms. </p>
<p>If you are concerned about feeding your family irradiated and ETOd foods, buy organic.  It is so discouraging to learn that the government and food companies are not being transparent in their practices, especially those that are potentially distructive to the health of your family.  This is why we need to eat a lot of immune building foods.  Do the best you can!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you always thought that inflammation is a just the swollen area where have been hurt &#8211; a cut or sprained ankle?  You are right and wrong.  Inflammation is a reaction that occurs in your body when it deals with a foreign organism or trauma. Dr. Keri Marshall explained the connection between inflammation and disease.  When a cell becomes inflammed, it is filled with extra fluid, the rescue program.  Unfortunately this becomes a problem when this extra fluid hangs around in a chronic state.  Then the needed nutrients do not enter the cell and the waste materials does not leave.  This fluid becomes stagnet and invites disease.  Stagnet waters breed unwanted micro-organisms.  So does the stagnet fluid in your cells.  You may notice the heat coming out of an inflammed area, however, this is hard to detect from an internal organ. </p>
<p>What do you do?  First, don&#8217;t eat foods that breed inflammation such as sugar.  Second, eat foods that deter inflammation such as artichokes.  Have your adrenal glands checked.  Get massages and/or exercise.  Sleep for at least 8 hours a night &#8230; don&#8217;t laugh (turn off your computer and TV and go to bed). Reduce your stress level (say NO to what is not possible to do in time available).  Be in tune with your body. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Michelle O’Shaughnessy said it all, “Build your body so you can’t get the Swine Flu.”  That’s it.  A strong immune system is your best defense.  A daily diet of junk food, processed food, and few to no vegetables or fruits weakens your immune system making you and your family a prime candidate for flues or any other disease.  Herbs, vegetables and fruits (lower glycemic/sugar are best) are your immune builders.  They fill your body with good guys who can knock off the bad guys before they get a grip. </p>
<p>You have yourself to look at and decide whether you want get sick and be dependent on the “band-aid” medical care of this country.  Be smart and fill up with foods that fight the bad guys and win!     P.S.  It helps if you claim to be well. </p>

<p>I hope you are not tempted or lured into buying and using air-fresheners.  Research supports the fact that none of us should:</p>
<p>1. Increases risk of pulmonary diseases<br />
2. Raises odds of developing asthma symptoms by 71 percent<br />
3.  Chemical 1,4 dichlorobenxene often found in air fresheners, make it more likely for those with high blood pressure to see a reduction in lung function<br />
4. When used in small rooms not well ventilated (bathrooms!), the emitance of pollutants that cause high levels of formaldehyde, a cancer causing carcinogen, can lead to respiratory irritation.</p>
<p>Dr. Norina Ocampo, a pediatrician who recently was interviewed on our Blog Talk Radio Show, Better Food Choices, said the number one illness in her practice is upper respiratory infections.  The number of her patients with asthma is on the rise.  I&#8217;ll bet that air-fresheners in the home, even baby rooms, are causing some of these illnesses.  Little bodies with little lungs are vulnerable.  All lungs are vulnerable.</p>
<p>Get rid of those chemically inducin artifical smelling air-fresheners.  Open your windows.</p>
