Sugar makes your fat. Fifty-five percent of your brain is fat. Your neural system runs on fat. At least 30% of our daily food intake should be fat. It must be natural, not processed altered fats such as hydrogenated trans fats. The sensationalism of fat being bad has turned us into a fat-deprived nation. The results are sickening. So watch out for sugar and enjoy some fat.

*Reported by USA Today, Nanci Hellmich, “Study: American mostly clueless when it comes to calories.”, 9/7/2010, p. 6D.
71 percent of children get information on how to be healthy from moms, 43 percent from their dads. Two thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese.* Connect the dots. It starts with moms and dads eating habits. Time to stop blaming external influences and look to yourselves for the cause and solutions. Being a parent is a huge responsibility. Start by buying, preparing, serving and eating nutrient- filled delicious meals at home. Be the example for your kids. They deserve it.
We are here to help you. Check out our recipes and the Kid Kritics Approved products list.

The number one and two MUST DO diet changes for autistic children: Gluten-Free and Casein-Free. In other words, take wheat, oats, barley, rye, spelt and kamut grains, plus, dairy with casein (which is most) out of your autistic child’s diet. Dr. Bob Sears talks about the important impact this food elimination has on managing and improving a child’s autistic symptoms. Why: both wheat and casein are very irritating to the “gut” – digestive systems which in turn irritates the surrounding neural system connected to the brain. (”They call the gut the second brain.”) By the way, irritation causes the release of toxins by the body. Bottom line: stay away from irritating foods and eat anti-inflammatory-detoxing ones - that’s another blog!
FYI: marked reduction of wheat and casein products is a healthy change for anyone’s diet.
Dr. Bob had lots to say on this radio show – listen on iTunes, especially of you are concerned about autism, detecting and managing this disease. Buy his book: The Autism Book.
