The hotter the pepper, the more Capsaicin you ingest, which speeds up your metabolism and increases your core body temperature. Result, burn more calories! Here is one answer to obesity or for those fighting the extra pounds. Develop a taste for hot. We find kids do like some “spicy” foods – a little heat when they eat. Don’t be afraid to use it when you cook. Cayenne, chipotle are up there in the heat gauge Tabasco and other pepper sauces can add a little zip to your burgers, tacos and more. Brave a jalapeno, leaving the seeds out. Even pimiento contributes with its mild source of heat. Have fun with peppers and reap the trimming benefits.

It doesn’t take much soda to overdose on sugar in a day. On average, four ounces will do it. There about 6 teaspoons of sugar in an 8 oz. soda. A half cup has about 3 teaspoons. Kids should have about 2 teaspoons of sugar a day. Adults don’t need much more. When was the last time you saw a small 8 ounce container of soda? Kids, teens and adults drinks a lot more, a recipe for obesity, diabetes and depression. Drink ice cold water or diluted 100% fruit juice instead.

Sugar makes your fat. Fifty-five percent of your brain is fat. Your neural system runs on fat. At least 30% of our daily food intake should be fat. It must be natural, not processed altered fats such as hydrogenated trans fats. The sensationalism of fat being bad has turned us into a fat-deprived nation. The results are sickening. So watch out for sugar and enjoy some fat.
