Deliciously Yummy Snack Mix
by Healthier Recipe Mom, Kimberly

“Yumm – delicious, can I have more? Will you put it in my lunch? The popcorn is good.” We have a gluten intolerance in our family, so this was a great allergen free treat when made with [gluten-free brands] for everyone in our house to enjoy. This is a mix we like to make sometimes for lunches, we created it just using snacks the kids like and have on hand” (Kimberly, mother of 3)

You can add a color by adding blueberries. This snack may be shorter on colors but it is long on natural fiber and the almonds also provide healthy fats. Kids usually do not eat enough fiber so this is a good snack for them. Adding semi-sweet chocolate chips absolutely sells this snack to kids. As you probably know, dark chocolate contains healthy antioxidants known as flavonoids. Please choose dark chocolate over milk chocolate chips. What an easy summer snack for in- and outdoor munching!
