BLT Roll Up (recipe below)
Salsa, EatSmart Sweet Garden Salsa * KKA
Pretzel Sticks, Gluten-Free , Snyder’s of Hanover * KKA
Banana
Spring Water
TIPS: BLT Roll-Up: Spread mayonnaise (Veganaise!) on one side of the whole grain or spelt tortilla. (For gluten issues, use gluten-free tortilla or bread.) Put one or two slices of cooked turkey bacon in the center. Place a few small slices of lettuce and tomatoes on top. Roll up tight. You may slice it in half or into smaller bite sizes. For those who refuse to eat tomatoes,try slipping in a couple of finely chopped pieces – or – leave them out. The salsa gives your kids needed fruit and vegetable nutrients. It’s fun to eat salsa with pretzel sticks. Even if they only eat some of the salsa, every bite counts… a little can go a long way. A small to medium banana will fill their tummies to the top. What a great source for minerals and fiber!
