Cinnamon Raisin Pbj

Cinnamon Raisin PB&J, grilled, recipe above
Cheese Stick, Organic Valley, KKA*
Edamame Beans, frozen, organic
Apple, organic
Water
OPTION: Replace peanut butter with other nut or seed butters
TIPS: This sandwich does not have to be grilled – your choice. The rest of this lunch is an easy pack. Cheese sticks and apples are great finger foods. So are edamame beans! Simply put some frozen ones in a little zip-lock or plastic container. By lunch time, they will be thawed and cool – tasty and crunchy. This idea came from moms who say it serves two purposes: fun source of protein and keeps lunch box cool. Surprise your kids with this one.
5 God-made Food Colors: tan, brown, red, white, green

PERFORMANCE RATING: 5/7
Lunch Box Motto: “Fast and easy to prepare. Fun to eat.” Mission accomplished with this one. Did you know there is more calcium in a teaspoon of cinnamon than a teaspoon of milk? This is only one of the reasons we have emphasized adding this spice to your recipes, your meals. With this lunch, your children’s tummies will be filled with satiating nutrients and tastes… sweet, a bit of sour, good fats, and protein from both nuts and soy beans. Choosing organic edamame (soy) beans is important because of the prevalence of this genetically modified crop.
This lunch’s Performance Rating sets you kids up for a productive afternoon in school and after-school activities. Again, we recommend including ice packs in lunch boxes. Best to keep everything cool!
